Mr. Schwartz has more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He has a strong understanding of the hotel industry, based on his almost 18 years as AAHOA’s President, and most recently, having served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Northeast Bank. In that role, he generated hundreds of financing leads, resulting in helping numerous borrowers with their hotel acquisitions.

Prior to joining Northeast Bank, Schwartz served as Senior Vice President of Midscale Development at the Radisson Hotel Group (Carlson). Under Schwartz’s leadership, the Country Inns & Suites unit growth increased 200% in 2016 against 2015, and 300% against 2014.

Prior to his role with Carlson, Schwartz served as President of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) for almost 18 years. During his tenure as president of AAHOA, the Association increased its membership from 3,000 to more than 14,000 members. In the process, AAHOA became the hospitality industry’s largest group of hotel owners, as well as one of the most influential voices on a wide range of issues, from political advocacy to professional development.

Prior to AAHOA, Schwartz managed the hospitality program for the 1996 Olympic Games, which were held in Atlanta, GA. Schwartz also held executive positions with InterContinental Hotels Group, Hyatt Hotels, and Warwick International.

Schwartz is a graduate of Queens College in New York.
